MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician in the food technology sector is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and systems used in food production are functioning efficiently and safely. This role involves regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and uphold food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on food processing and packaging equipment.
Schedule and execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in production equipment.
Conduct repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.

System Monitoring:
Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as necessary.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all maintenance work complies with food safety regulations and standards.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Collaboration:
Work closely with production staff to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Collaborate with management on equipment upgrades and process improvements.
Training and Support:

Provide training to staff on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
Assist in developing and implementing maintenance procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a relevant field preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in maintenance, particularly in the food industry, is a plus.

Skills:
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of food processing equipment and safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:
Work in a food production environment, which may include exposure to noise, temperature variations, and machinery.
May require on-call availability for emergency repairs.
Shift work may be necessary, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Capability to stand, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
